Private while your case is active

We use your car registration and identity document to verify your authority to request removal. Only you and the authorised VINShield operator can access the uploaded documents.

When documents are deleted

We delete your uploaded documents when all selected listings have been confirmed removed, or when your case is closed because no further action will be taken. A declined verification also closes document handling and deletes the uploads.

What publishers receive

Requests include your name, reply email, VIN, relevant listing URLs and the reason you provide. Identity and registration documents are not attached. A publisher may ask you for additional verification through its own secure process.

Case records

Necessary case, authorisation, request and payment records remain separate from document uploads. This service does not promise that no information is stored. Search providers receive the VIN to find listings; payment and email providers process the information required for their services.

The operator’s full privacy policy and contact details must be available before document intake and payment are activated.
